To start the year off right, we wanted to share a little appearance we made in Weddingbells magazine for their Spring/Summer 2012 issue. Papertalk Press’ adorable jam jar favour is sitting here in this stationery feature, on news stands right now!

We wish everyone a healthy, joyful and successful 2012… and to all those couples who got engaged over the holidays or getting married this year, happy planning!

Our invitations were printed on this amazing, glimmering gold cover stock, which I must say looks even better in person. We rounded the opposite corners of the invitations, response cards and menus, to soften the overall look a bit. For the favours, our little tags got paired up once again with The Caramel Jar, and I must say, we always look so sweet together.

Papertalk Press was featured on the marvelous 100 Layer Cake wedding blog last week, and we couldn’t be more excited. Once again, we had the pleasure of working on a styled photo shoot with our favourite wedding stylist, Rhiannon of Hey Gorgeous Events (our last shoot together was this). She teamed up with Tonya Peterson, photographer extraordinaire, who flew out all the way from New Mexico to Michigan to capture this beautiful day. The result? The loveliest of rustic elegance.

The shoot’s inspiration came from a Snippet & Ink board, and we had tonnes of fun running with it. The palette was very natural, lots of whites and browns, but the faintest hint of blush really brought out the delicateness of it all.

Invitation Suite + Menus

For the invitations and the menus, the original plan was to letterpress kraft boards, but that failed attempt (I should have stuck to my initial instinct to foil stamp instead of letterpress) led us to an even cuter construction using white eyelets.

The invitation was printed on a nice, heavy uncoated stock, which was attached with an eyelet onto an A7 sized kraft board. Matching kraft envelopes with contrasting address labels finished the set. The menus also had the eyelet feature, and served as both a menu and a escort card. We attached a little pink name tag and table number onto the menu, which was then attached to a landscape kraft board.

We love the eyelets so much that we’re already thinking of other ways to incorporate them into new designs.

Caramel Favour Tags

The other bit that we love is our little favour tag marriage with scrumptious caramels from The Caramel Jar. Don’t they look like a match made in caramel heaven?

Though we haven’t had the chance to gobble them up ourselves (placing an order this week!), we know they are delicious – even Jimmy Fallon says so!

Signage

We created signage for the amazing life-sized wish tree that Rhiannon designed. Since we couldn’t print white ink onto the kraft paper, we scanned in a sheet of kraft board and imposed white type on it. When it was printed, you couldn’t tell the difference between the real kraft board and our scanned version!

Believe it or not, our super cute models are real life newlyweds who never got their own wedding photos! Hopefully this day can at least go into the photo albums as their pseudo wedding.

There were so many more lovely details, from the cake and Rhiannon’s larger than life crate-cake stand to the unbelievable heirloom roses and everything in between.

We asked Catherine to come up with an inspiration board; the theme and colors were entirely up to her. I was pretty happy to see what she came up with—especially on a rainy, windy day like today. Beautiful job, Catherine!

Incorporating nature and 1920s vintage glamour is a perfect combo for a summer wedding outdoors. Soft creme colors and gold mixed with hints of green and blue makes the mixture of two very different themes work perfectly.
